Carbon Literacy training
Carbon Literacy is the knowledge and capacity required to create a positive shift in how humans live, work and behave in response to climate change. Learners who have completed a day's worth of Carbon Literacy learning can be certified as 'Carbon Literate'.
Carbon Literacy training for charities and funders
I offer certified Carbon Literacy Training via the Carbon Literacy Project. My course is tailored specifically for charities and funders. In this training course we will consider environmental change in relation to our sector's missions, emissions, and role in supporting transformation at all levels.

What does the course cover?

Through Part 1, you will understand...
1. Greenhouse gases and climate change basics
2. How the climate is changing in the UK, and globally
3. How climate change’s impacts are felt unequally
4. Tipping points and potential to solve social and environmental issues together
5. How our actions impact climate change
6. The range of feels climate conversations bring and support available
Through Part 2, you will explore…
1. The role of charities and funders in addressing climate change and wider environmental issues
2. Charity and funder missions and emissions, how each are impacted and what you can do
3. Legal and regulatory requirements for charities and funders in this area
4. Communicating on climate change - what works and sources of good practice
5. Your next steps
To be certified as Carbon Literate, you need to complete both parts of the course, complete c.1 hour of self-guided learning in between the two half day courses, and complete a short form in which you summarise your learning and next steps.
